Understanding When Your Cube Flashes 888
Your Cube may flash 888 in two scenarios:
Blinking 888 Only
If it blinks "888" without showing any additional readings, this typically indicates a communication issue with the device, often requiring re-synchronization with the remote control (help@sleep.me). This situation suggests that the device is not properly connected or communicating with the remote, and re-syncing the remote to the Cube usually resolves the problem.
Power Cycle and Reset:
- Turn Off the Cube: Switch it off and unplug it from the wall.
- Wait it Out: Let it sit for about 15 minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on again.
Check for Remote Battery:
- If you’re trying to power on the Cube with the remote and it’s not responding, double-check those batteries. Fresh batteries can do wonders!
Syncing the Cube and Remote:
- Plug in the Cube.
- Reset the Cube: Press and hold the "ON/OFF" button on the Cube for about 5 seconds until you see the "888" blinking on the display.
- Power Up the Remote: Turn on your remote control. If everything is working correctly, you should see the actual temperature on the Cube display.
Blinking 888 with a Temperature Reading
Alternatively, if the blinking "888" on your device is followed by a temperature reading, it may indicate power-related issues such as an unstable or insufficient power supply. In this case, replacing the power supply is recommended to restore proper function. You can purchase a genuine replacement power supply here: Cube - Power Supply Repair Kit. Step-by-step instructions for replacing the power supply are available HERE, which can guide you through the process.
